So I'm thinking about taking a "hiatus" until mid-December from heavy interneting. I want to say that I got into a big dramatic internet flame war to make things interesting, but it's really just me needing to buckle down for school. Theoretically, I would like myself not to upload/post anything here and dA until then, but you and I know that is not going to happen, so we'll see.

However, I still plan on doing the following stuff:

- Yuletide Fic Exchange : Since doing it last year was so fun, I'm gonna give it another go. I really encourage anyone who likes to write fic to join in on the fun. It's basically a Secret Santa fic exchange for rare/dead fandoms. If it wasn't obvious enough, I'll be requesting Temeraire, Team Fortress 2, and Lackadaisy for sure. For my optional fourth, I'm still deciding if I want Hook (young!PETER/RUFIO, LOLOLOL--) or Codex Alera (MAXIMUS&CRASSUS BROMANCE). Comm is yuletide .

- Fic writing exceptions. I only have two WIPs, and I need to get them done by a certain date. One is that TF2 thing and the other is Codex Alera which needs to be done, like, tonight. I have half of it finished but I've been away from the computer like woah, BUT DAMMIT, IT'S GONNA GET DONE. But, other than those two, I should not by any circumstances try to write anything new until Christmas/yuletide.

- Comment/lurk. Like I don't do that already.

- Project my suffering via twitter. Because that is what it's there for.


Non-internet related things include:

- Playing Ultimate Alliance 2 for five glorious hours on Halloween with smileholic . It's like Hunter the Reckoning, but with all the Marvel heroes/villains you'd ever want. Which, for me, is just Gambit. (Yet I ended up playing as Wolverine the most.) The game itself is pretty rad since the whole plot is basically one giant LOVE STORY between CAPTAIN AMERICA and IRON MAN with added MIND-CONTROLLING NANOBOTS. Because we all know that Tony is quite head over heels in love with Steve. (Ahaha, last two links are spoilers, btw.)

- Also Brent Weeks (of the Night Angel Trilogy) is doing a book signing in San Fransisco on Monday Nov. 2, so me and smileholic are gonna try and get on that. If anyone is planning to attend, holla out yo. eta: or if anyone wants to get a signed copy, comment me and maybe we can work something out.

- Unrelated, but totally cool-- two weeks ago I literally skinned a dead human for class. My face has been molded into a permanent grimace. Cadaver shenanigans ensue.

So I went to two Halloween shops yesterday and none of them had a female Star Trek uniform. I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WORLD.  I did find, however, a pretty cool V for Vendetta costume. Too bad it is, like, a bajillion dollars. The same goes for the Clone Trooper  and Master Chief ones.  Gangster Moll and flapper will just have to wait forever. :(

My friend suggested I go as fem!Scout.  So that's what I'm going to do. It'll be cheaper since there's an awesome Goodwill warehouse nearby, and I think I can manage to find whatever I need there.  Personally, I rather go as Engineer or Sniper, but I lack resources. A bat would be easier to buy than a... gun.

SIGH SIGH.  Halloween, why must you be so difficult every year.

The reason why I love L4D? Because everyone freakin' CARES and LOOKS OUT for one another!  I'm glad the trailer really puts an emphasis on it, because, GEEZ, GUYS. I am a sucker for teamwork and togetherness.  That, and zombie killing sprees.  Now, as much as I like the original L4D, the new survivors sounds so, so painfully awesome.  DIDJA SEE ROCHELLE? DIDJA SEE HER WITH THAT TURRET?  And COACH. Coach may be my favorite on the get-go.  He makes me TEEHEE.

And, well, Nick is roguishly handsome in his own right, as well as Ellis being boyishly cute, but Coach, hands down = FAVE SO FAR.

Since all of my professors are conspiring against me, I have projects due and a human anatomy exam this afternoon AND a polisci debate tomorrow, plus two quizzes for my other classes. Guess which one I totally forgot about. ...Okay, I'll tell you: the freakin' debate, which is all very funny and entirely my fault, but I do have a debate partner who e-mailed me, like, FIVE days ago with a worksheet I never knew about, and I never ever check my school e-mail, so now I got some catching up to do.


So, if anyone can...

1. Link me articles and essays or even your thoughts on AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, that would be a godsend.  I'm technically assigned to argue Pro-Affirmative Action, but I wouldn't mind getting some con sides as well. Know thy enemy and whatnot.

2. Rec me some songs that talk about California. Genre doesn't really matter, though I do swing towards pop, rock, rap, and R&B.  Explicit content is also okay in my book.  (Dani California and Hotel California are not allowed though. I'll shoot you, lol.) THIS IS MY MIDTERM, NO LIE. I basically have to rant for five minutes in front of the class on the lyrical analysis of my song.

This is funny because I live there, but the songs I know about California aren't really ones I want to talk about for a long time. But yeah, I would love it forever if anyone can help. LAZY STUDENT IS LAZY.
